I Want to be a Film Programmer 2025!
Scalarama Leeds 2025 is now accepting Expressions of Interest for an initiative to support two first-time film programmers to develop and showcase their ideas at this year’s festival in September. This is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring programmers to gain experience, build their skills, network, and showcase their programming ideas to a wider audience.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO APPLY TO THIS OPPORTUNITY TO PROGRAMME EVENTS FOR SCALARAMA LEEDS.
This is an initiative in which two new selected programmers get additional 1:1 support, plus a £150 fee each, your venue for free and you do not need to pay for the film licence. This is an opportunity for those who just need an extra helping hand.
To submit your Expression of Interest please click on the application form below. The final deadline for all applications is Sunday 30 March 11:59pm
Please note we are only able to consider applications from new programmers who have not previously programmed any film events before, and we prioritise those based in Leeds. You can apply for this role as an individual, friends, group or organisation.
If you would prefer to record your answers in the form of an audio or video response or to send us a separate email with your answers, we would happily accept them. Please contact us at: [email protected]
We advise all applicants to attend the free public meeting on 'finding film licences' on Saturday 15 March 2025 at 11am at Hyde Park Picture House for advance training.
If you have any questions about this opportunity, or if you would like a chat about it, please email [email protected] - we're super-friendly!
